Ten individuals sentenced of online harassment targeting Brigitte Macron

A court in Paris has convicted ten people for perpetrating the digital intimidation of Brigitte Macron, the wife of French President, Emmanuel Macron.

The those on trial faced allegations of circulating fabrications regarding her gender and sexual orientation, in addition to making hurtful comments about the couple's age disparity of 24 years.

The court issued conditional custodial sentences of up to eight months to the perpetrators. The complete verdict has yet to be released.

This recent ruling in France comes as the Macrons engaging in a libel case in the United States of America against conservative commentator Candace Owens, who has likewise promoted similar conspiracy theories about the Brigitte Macron's gender.

Their lawsuit contends that Owens ignored substantial counter-evidence contradicting her allegations opting to give a platform to established defamers.

Owens has often echoed these claims on her digital program and online platforms, and in March 2024 proclaimed that she would bet her whole career on her conviction that Mrs. Macron was born a man.
