From the very beginning of Campaign 4, fresh DM Brennan Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with extensive world-building, a colorful mix of heroes, and a exciting storyline featuring celestial beings, fiends, and malevolent powers growing in strength within Dol-Makjar.
Warning: Key plot points for the third episode of Campaign 4 follow below.
The Warrior Group Revealed
Episode 3 finished on a huge suspense moment and revealed the premier party of heroes who will separate from the main group to undertake their own adventure, separate from the remaining groups.
This warrior group features Teor Pridesire (portrayed by the voice actor), the agile character (Laura Bailey), Tyranny (the cast member), Wicander (the player), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie Daymond).
The Reason for Division
Considering 13 cast members, it was evident from the start that having everyone at one table would be impossible.
This explains, the opening chapters of this story serve as an Overture, connecting the characters’ stories before dividing into three distinct groups: Fighters, Schemers, and Questers.
What Defines the Soldiers Table
According to the DM, the combat-focused party is for participants who enjoy a typically action-packed fight-heavy narrative style where diplomatic options are rare.
At first glance, characters like the squeamish cleric Wicander might seem mismatched, but the actions of the latest installment make it clear why these specific adventurers are ideally matched for the warrior group.
Reasons to Leave
For one thing, the team knows exactly where to go next after a violent opening clash with the enemy group.
An old friend of Thjazi—whose demise kicked off the campaign’s events—exploited The Crow Keepers for his own means, invading the secret base, striking Thimble, and taking all the magical artifacts to dispose of.
The traitor then settled his debts and fled to a secure base in the remote area, beyond Dol-Makjar, with Teor’s brother hot on his heels.
Individual Reasons
Additionally, each member has a personal reason to leave the city the metropolitan area:
- The rogue, as the close ally and closest confidant, desires retribution.
- The adventurer is familiar with the region and warns that it is a dangerous environment.
- The warrior and The healer, having defied his house’s orders to eliminate the fighter and instead rescued him, have no safe haven.
- However, their position as important members in House Halovar could help the party access areas they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Furthermore, Teor vowed a life debt to The cleric for his deliverance and will now accompany him wherever.
Pursued by Authorities
Finally, all of them are sought by the authorities that govern the setting for a multiple motives, making remaining behind dangerous:
- The rogue and The character are recognized lawbreakers.
- The strong figure and The healer turned against the influential house and the horde of evil beings they are allied with.
- Teor is wanted dead by the clan.
This leaves them little choice but to journey toward Timmony in pursuit of Casimir.
Upcoming Developments
Based on the recent installment’s follow-up content, we discover that the combat party will not appear in the upcoming installment, leaving the rest of the players to assemble the Seekers and Schemers parties.
